Former labourer's cottage in Stanford Western Cape becomes a holiday home

To make a larger living room the new owners removed the wall between the living room and kitchen, and put in a second bathroom as well as sash windows in some of the bedrooms. In the back they built what has become the heart of the house -- a kitchen, dining and living area with all the charm of the original building, but all the modern conveniences of the 21st century.
